South Korea

Despite the initial plan of a unified Korea in the 1943 Cairo Declaration, escalating Cold War antagonism between the Soviet Union and the United States eventually led to the establishment of separate governments, each with its own ideology, leading to the division of Korea into two political entities in 1948: North Korea and South Korea.

The easternmost islands of South Korea include Ulleungdo and Liancourt Rocks, while Marado and Socotra Rock are the southernmost islands of South Korea.

By early 2009, relationships between North and South Korea were very tense; North Korea had been reported to have deployed missiles, ended its former agreements with South Korea, and threatened South Korea and the United States not to interfere with a satellite launch it had planned.

In May 2011, Korea Aerospace Industries Ltd., South Korea’s largest plane maker, signed a $400 million deal to sell 16 T-50 Golden Eagle trainer jets to Indonesia, making South Korea the first country in Asia to export supersonic jets.

South Korea is not allowed to enrich uranium or develop traditional uranium enrichment technology on its own, because of US political pressure, unlike most major nuclear powers such as Japan, Germany, and France, competitors of South Korea in the international nuclear market.

South Korea’s efforts to build an indigenous space launch vehicle have been marred due to persistent political pressure from the United States, who had for many decades hindered South Korea’s indigenous rocket and missile development programs in fear of their possible connection to clandestine military ballistic missile programs, which Korea many times insisted did not violate the research and development guidelines stipulated by US-Korea agreements on restriction of South Korean rocket technology research and development.

Envoy Voices Regret Over South Korea Joining Sanctions Against Russia

Russia’s ambassador to South Korea expressed deep regret over the country’s participation in global sanctions against Russia for its invasion of Ukraine.

South Korea joining the sanctions is not ahappy newsfor us,” Ambassador Andrey Kulik said through an interpreter during a news conference held at the Russian embassy in central Seoul, Monday.

Last week, the South Korean government announced its participation in international sanctions against Russia.

Considering Korea’s national interests, I see no reason for South Korea joining the sanctions against Russia. The only factor pushing South Korea to impose sanctions against Russia is the strong external influence,” he claimed.

The Russian envoy insisted that South KoreaYielding to international pressureand joining the sanctions would completely change the trajectory of bilateral relations.

For the past 30 years, the relations between Russia and South Korea have developed only in a positive way. Recently, South Korea’s New Northern Policy has fueled the development of bilateral ties even more, so the situation is deeply regrettable,” Kulik said.

Economic sanctions damage those who impose sanctions as well. According to the U.N. charter, the only authority which can impose economic sanctions is the U.N. Security Council, not a single country. So there is the illegality of the current imposition of sanctions against Russia.”

Post Idea #3: Fiber to the x

Fiber To The X

Fiber to the x or fiber in the loop is a generic term for any broadband network architecture using optical fiber to provide all or part of the local loop used for last mile telecommunications.

As fiber optic cables are able to carry much more data than copper cables, especially over long distances, copper telephone networks built in the 20th century are being replaced by fiber.

Fiber is often said to beFuture-proofbecause the data rate of the connection is usually limited by the terminal equipment rather than the fiber, permitting substantial speed improvements by equipment upgrades before the fiber itself must be upgraded.

Fiber to the premises is a form of fiber-optic communication delivery, in which an optical fiber is run in an optical distribution network from the central office all the way to the premises occupied by the subscriber.

An apartment building may provide an example of the distinction between FTTH and FTTB. If a fiber is run to a panel inside each subscriber’s apartment unit, it is FTTH. If instead, the fiber goes only as far as the apartment building’s shared electrical room, it is FTTB. Fiber to the curb/cabinet is a telecommunications system based on fiber-optic cables run to a platform that serves several customers.

Typically any system terminating fiber within 1,000 ft of the customer premises equipment would be described as FTTC. Fiber to the node or neighborhood, sometimes identified with and sometimes distinguished from fiber to the cabinet, is a telecommunication architecture based on fiber-optic cables run to a cabinet serving a neighborhood.

Active PPPoE uses dedicated fiber from an operator’s central office all the way to the subscribershomes, while hybrid networks use it to transport data via fiber to an intermediate point to ensure sufficiently high throughput speeds over last-mile copper connections.

Carritech Telecommunications

FTTx stands for Fiber to the X. It is a telecommunications network architecture that is used within the local loop and delivers broadband connections to homes, businesses and organisations all around the world.

Many legacy copper-based networks are steadily being replaced with FTTx systems due to the benefits in speed and capacity that comes with fiber optic cabling.

With FTTP, an optical fiber is run in an optical distribution network from the central office to the subscriber premises.

FTTH Fiber to the Home is when the fiber reaches the living or working space.

FTTB Fiber to the Building is where the fiber reaches the subscribers building that may have multiple living or working spaces that are being served by the network provider.

FTTdp Fiber to the Distribution Point is very similar to FTTC/FTTN but is located one-step closer, moving the fiber to within meters of the boundary of customers premesis, to a junction box known as the distribution point.

FTTx technology will continue to be implemented within telecommunication networks as more operators replace older copper infrastructure with fiber based systems.

Definition From WhatIs.Com

Fiber to the x is a collective term for various optical fiber delivery topologies that are categorized according to where the fiber terminates.

Optical fiber is already used for long-distance parts of the network, but metal cabling has traditionally been used for the stretches from the telecom facilities to the customer.

FTTNOptical fiber terminates in a cabinet which may be as much as a few miles from the customer premises.

FTTCOptical cabling usually terminates within 300 yards of the customer premises.

FTTBOptical cabling terminates at the building, which is typically multi-unit.

FTTHOptical cabling terminates at the individual home or business.

FTTP Used to encompass both FTTH and FTTB deployments or is sometimes used to indicate that a particular fiber network includes both homes and businesses.

What Is Known As Fiber To The X

Fiber To The X is different from a traditional fiber optic network that would be used for a local area network application.

FTTX is possible with optical fiber distances up to 20km because optical fiber is capable of transmitting information with a very low level of loss.

A fiber-to-the-home PON uses optical fiber from the central office to the home; At the home, a converter box changes the optical signal from the optical fiber into electrical signals.

Some of the fiber networks deploying signals to the most sophisticated equipment can benefit from a multimode fiber connection, where a specific kind of fiber optic cable may be used for optimal speed.

The converter box is located where the optical fiber stops, and it changes the optical signal from the optical fiber into electrical signals.

Fiber to the node is sometimes referred to as fiber to the neighborhood.

One of the main benefits of fiber to the node and similar systems is the ability to deliver data over more efficient fiber optic lines, rather than other lines with greater speed restrictions.

NextGen Services At The Speed Of Light

These architectures consist of back office networks, transport networks, wireless infrastructures and most important, the access portion for improving our customer satisfaction.

Services that will offer high dynamic range 4k video, ultra-high speed data, high definition video telephony, and countless IP devices interconnected over optical networks.

The hybrid fiber coax access network from the cable headend will transform into an optical distribution network, or ODN to carry these services.

These FTTx network architectures use optical cabling in place of the traditional coaxial cabling found in our HFC networks.

While we have three architectures, there are also three popular FTTx technologies used to create FTTx networks: SCTE/ISBE 174 radio frequency over glass, IEEE Ethernet passive optical network and ITU-T gigabit passive optical network.

Fiber is another vital step to scaling our networks to support the services of the future.

Steve Harris is the senior director of advanced network technology and instruction at SCTE/ISBE. He is a respected international telecommunications subject matter expert, sought-after presenter and principle instructor.

In today’s context of FTTx network architectures, it is vital to have the right set of test tools to ensure optimal quality of service to subscribers from the get-go.

Typically, for an FTTH network, the optical line terminal interfaces with the public-switched telephone network and internet services at the headend.

1 cause of network failures, inspecting connectors can help you save money and give you the assurance that your network is healthy.

Connectors are the most overlooked aspect of a network, but contamination from a wide range of sources can have a serious impact on network loss and reflectance.

The intelligent Optical Link Mapper has preset test configurations and parameters where pass/fail criteria are hardcoded for splices, connectors, splitter enclosure losses, overall link loss and ORL. Advanced algorithms will dynamically define the testing parameters, as well as the number of acquisitions that best fit the FTTx network under test.

The 1310/1550-nm signal could disrupt upstream live traffic on the PON network and potentially damage SFPs at the OLT. The only solution is to use a filtered live port that will significantly attenuate any incoming traffic and allow testing to be performed without impacting services.

Due to time constraints, many networks are built first and then tested, so having both options available allows technicians to test at any phase of the network lifecycle.

Fiber To The X FTTX

Fiber to the X comprises various fiber optic access infrastructure including fiber to the home, fiber to the building, and fiber to the curb or cabinet, etc.

Fiber to the home is the installation and use of optical fiber and passive optical network technology, GPON or EPON, from a central point directly to individual buildings such as residences, apartment buildings and offices to provide high-speed Internet access.

FTTH dramatically increases the attainable connection speed for computer users compared with current technologies in most places.

As an FTTX solutions provider, Dawnergy has the technology and expertise necessary for every type of network and application.
