City Council Urges Quebec City To Keep Housing Program
The launch announcement of the Quebec affordable housing program and $200 million investments to start building housing this year raised concerns over wording that AccèsLogis, a development assistance platform considered essential to Montreal’s social housing ecosystem, “Remains in place to allow the continuation of projects already initiated.”

The standard also includes a mechanism to protect devices that do not support PoE: A 25-kW resistor is added between the power pairs on the powered device, and the power source provides power only if something close to that resistive value is detected.
Each new standard provides for backward compatibility with all previous standards and notes the minimum power per port to be supplied to the powered devices.

According to the National Cancer Institute, the rate of colorectal cancer in adults younger than 50 years of age has doubled since the 1990s.
The most recent data, which tracked the incidence of colorectal cancer from 2011 to 2016, revealed an up to two percent per year increase among people under 50.
While there is no single reason why colorectal cancer diagnoses and deaths are on the rise among young adults, there is a chance that earlier screenings along with recognizing the signs of colorectal cancer and taking them seriously could help curb this trend.
Experts also recommend eating a balanced low-fat diet high in fruits and vegetables, reducing alcohol consumption, preventing or stopping tobacco use, and increasing physical activity are measures that people can take to help reduce their risk of colorectal cancer as well as other cancer types.

Research Team Outlines New Methods To Identify Personalized Drug Treatments For Breast Cancer
For years, researchers at Huntsman Cancer Institute at the University of Utah have honed a process of developing breast cancer models using tumors donated by breast cancer patients, which they then implant into mice as a way to study the tumor’s behavior.
“We were able to utilize the data to prioritize therapy options for a patient,” says Alana Welm, PhD, co-lead author, breast cancer researcher at Huntsman Cancer Institute, and professor of oncological sciences at the U of U. “While this therapy was unfortunately not curative, it led to regression of the patient’s tumor and a longer survival period.”
To our knowledge, the first time that such models have been used to influence the therapy choice of a breast cancer patient in a clinical trial setting.”
The research team included a diverse group of clinicians, laboratory researchers, and technicians from Huntsman Cancer Institute at the University of Utah, Baylor College of Medicine, the Jackson Labs, the University of Connecticut, and the University of Pittsburgh.
Led by Saundra Buys, MD, chief of the division of oncology at Huntsman Cancer Institute, the trial tests patient-derived tumor models to inform the treatment selection in metastatic breast cancer patients.
With a second trial in development, Welm says, “We will also use the models to predict recurrence for a subset of newly diagnosed breast cancer patients, and then attempt to personalize therapy for the metastatic stage of the disease when recurrence happens.”

These findings have changed guidelines on T2D management over the last years, and GLP-1RAs are now widely used in overweight patients with T2D as well as in patients with T2D and cardiovascular disease regardless of glycaemic control.
The currently available GLP-1RAs have different pharmacokinetic profiles and differ in their ability to improve glycaemia, reduce body weight and in their cardio- and renal protective potentials.
Understanding how these agents work, including insights into their pleiotropic effects on T2D pathophysiology, may improve their clinical utilisation and be useful for exploring other indications such as non-alcoholic steatohepatitis and neurodegenerative disorders.
In this review, we provide an overview of approved GLP-1RAs, their clinical effects and mode of action, and we offer insights into the potential of GLP-1RAs for other indications than T2D. Finally, we will discuss the emerging data and therapeutic potential of using GLP-1RAs in combinations with other receptor agonists.
